World Federation of Neuroscience Nurses
World Federation of Neuroscience Nurses (WFNN) är en internationell organisation för sjuksköterskor inom neuro-vård, inklusive sub-specialiteter.
WFNN bildades 1969 och bestod ursprungligen av 5 medlemsorganisationer. Idag består WFNN av 16 medlemsorganisationer, eller ca 5000 sjuksköterskor, fördelade över 5 kontinenter.

WFNN finns representerade i WHO’s program för neurologiska sjukdomar, ger ut ett nyhetsbrev ("International Brain Waves") tre gånger om året, utdelar stipendium och anordnar en världskongress vart fjärde år.

VfMD är sedan 1998 medlem av WFNN, vilket innebär att om Du är sjuksköterska så är Du i och med Ditt medlemskap i VfMD också medlem i WFNN.
Detta ger Dig t.ex.:

  • Rabatterad anmälnings-avgift till WFNN:s kongresser
  • Kontinuerlig internationell uppdatering via deras newsletter (även tillgängligt för Dig som inte är sjuksköterska)
  • Insikt i och möjlighet att påverka internationella beslut rörande neuro-vård genom VfMD:s representant i styrelsen för WFNN
  • Tillgång till internationellt nätverk av kollegor över hela världen

Där hittar Du information om det mesta som rör WFNN, dess verksamhet, medlemsorganisationer och kontaktpersoner över hela världen. Dessutom finns en extensiv länksamling som innehåller mycket värdefulla resurser, inte bara för sjuksköterskor utan för all hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal med intresse för neuro-området.

Yvonne representerar VfMD i WFNN:s styrelse. Hennes uppgift är att fungera som språkrör mellan WFNN och VfMD, samt att föra VfMD:s talan i WFNN.Har Du som sjuksköterska och medlem i VfMD några specifika frågor, synpunkter eller önskemål med internationell anknytning eller beträffande WFNN är Du således välkommen att kontakta Yvonne.

Peter Hagell är för närvarande vice-president i WFNN. Detta uppdrag är inte kopplat till VfMD och Peter representerar som vice-president således inte VfMD men Du är naturligtvis välkommen att kontakta även honom om Du har några frågor.

I hope this email finds you well and preparing for another year of growth and development within WFNN!  This email serves as notice for several important due dates - for dues, Board elections, our meeting in Toronto, grant applications, and host applications for 2013. 

 

Please pay careful attention to the dates listed and share the nomination and grant application information with your general members.

  1. Dues: See attached word document.  Dues for 2009 must be paid by April 15th.  Dues for 2009 have been paid by AANN and the Swedish Movement Caring Society.

 

  1. Elections: The call for WFNN Executive Committee nominations, due 15 March, can be found at the following site:  http://www.wfnn.nu/nominations.html

 

Nominations are now being accepted for the following positions:

Treasurer: Term 2009-20013

Vice President: Term 2009 -2013

Please submit the necessary paperwork to Karen March as indicated by 15 March.  Elections will  be held electronically. 

 

  1. Board Meeting: Saturday 23 May from 0900 – 1200.  This meeting is mandatory for all WFNN Board of Director members.  Please time your arrival to Toronto so that you will attend the meeting.  Location will be announced as we get closer to the meeting date.  Please send any material or requests for the agenda to Karen March (in the cc line above).  Full information on the scientific program can be found at:

  1. Host applications: There have been 2 applications to host the 2013 WFNN Congress.  Full host proposals will be sent within the month to allow for electronic voting to determine venue.   

5.Travel Grants to WFNN: There are travel grants available to support WFNN members in their travel to the WFNN Congress.  For members that have already submitted paper travel grant applications, those applications will be reviewed along with the electronic submissions.  Please distribute to ALL of your members the electronic grant application found on the following site:
